On and off the slopes
Winter holiday in Sölden
Simply snowy. Winter in Sölden is in a class of its own. Especially on the slopes. The entrance to the Sölden ski area is only 300 metres away from the Garni Jaqueline. The Gaislachkoglbahn takes you up to the middle station or one level higher up to the Gaislachkogl at 3,000 metres. From there, the ski area with its 144 kilometres of pistes, 30 modern lifts and just as many huts and mountain restaurants is actually at your feet. And after a day on the slopes, you can comfortably ski down the valley run and end up not far from the Garni Jaqueline. The Sölden skiing area also impresses with its guaranteed snow until well into spring. And thanks to glacier skiing in autumn, the ski season starts earlier here than elsewhere. Discounted ski rental is available from our partner Sporthütte Fiegl at the Gaislachkogl valley station.
Off-piste, we can recommend the new "Stiegele" toboggan run. From the Gaislachkogl middle station, the 7 km long toboggan run takes you down into the valley - right to our front door. More individual, but at least as beautiful: winter and snowshoe hikes or ski tours. Untouched forests and snow-covered slopes can be explored on solitary paths. Apart from that, there are of course also plenty of leisure and activity options in winter: Ice skating and curling at the Sölden ice rink, swimming in the indoor pool of the Freizeit Arena Sölden or relaxing at our partner, the thermal spa AQUA DOME in Längenfeld.
